Neil A.
The glint of light on broken glass *
With Neil, you have endless possibilities. Because the fabric is created by holding the yarn double, you can customize the ‘marlyness’ to suit your style and esthetics. Go for graphic black & white or contrasting shades to achieve something bold
and eye-catching, or keep it subtle with muted tone on tone colors.
The simple but effective colorwork stands out from the marled fabric and adds interest to the sweater. Play with colors and hues and make Neil truly your own!

CONSTRUCTION
Neil A. has contiguous saddle shoulder shaping and is knit seamlessly from the top down. The first part of the yoke is worked flat with short rows to shape the neckline. Then the yoke is joined and knitted in the round. To reduce bulk and weight while working the colorwork on the sleeves, the sleeves are worked before the body.
To achieve a marled effect the sweater is worked holding the yarn double. Neil has folded hems on the sleeves and body. The facings of the hems are knitted while holding the yarn single, which results in hems without any excess bulk that lie nice and flat.
Neil has a slight A-line shape; the narrowest part of the sweater falls a little above the natural waist. The pattern includes instructions for horizontal bust darts. The darts are optional; instructions for a sweater with and without darts are given.
