Kore

I’ll tell you all my secrets, but lie about my past  *

A well fitting, open front cardigan is a wardrobe staple. The effortless, chic and streamlined shape of Kore can be easily dressed up or down, and would look just as good paired with jeans as an easy breezy summer dress.
The cardigan is knitted from the top down; the simple stitches combine for interesting all-over texture and help make this a relatively easy project. The classic, tailored silhouette with the optically slimming shawl collar will flatter many body types, and you will find yourself reaching for this cardi again and again.

CONSTRUCTION
Kore is worked flat from the top down. The slip stitch garter rib collar is worked first. Stitches are picked up from the collar to work the yoke, which has a contiguous sleeve construction with saddle shoulders. Short rows are worked to raise the back of the neck and shape the slip stitch garter rib bands.
At the underarm, sleeves and body are separated. The body is worked down to the slip stitch garter rib bottom band, which is worked perpendicular to the body and attached by knitting the bottom band and body stitches together.
After the body is finished, the sleeves are worked down to the slip stitch garter rib sleeve cuffs. In the pattern there are two options given for working the sleeves. You can choose to work them in the round, to minimize seaming, or flat, so there will be no purling. After the sleeves are finished, the sleeve cuffs will be worked and attached to the sleeves using the same technique as used for the bottom band.
All the edges of the cardigan are finished with an applied i-cord.
